New Indyguitarist Creamy Overdrive Pedal -- "The Phat Axx"

When you think of creamy overdrive tones, what pops in your head? When we think of creamy, we hear Eric Johnson licks in our heads, so we wanted to try to recreate that creamy, buttery tone of his in one pedal! Dubbed the "Phat Axx" Overdrive, it has received tons of positive comments from all who've tried it so far!

Soundclip: http://www.indyguitarist.com/soundclips/ig-overdrive-705.mp3

The switches are a bass boost switch, and a mid-presence boost switch. There is a volume and gain knobs, and a tone knob that acts as more of a 'presence' control than a traditional tone control like most overdrives have. Completely true bypass, of course, and includes a 9v "boss style" power jack.

Options:
* All diamond plate enclosure - custom built by hand in our shop!
* Add another circuit with the phat axx overdrive (as shown below) (email for cost)
* Inexpensive version available -same circuit, plain enclosure

Note that not EVERY pedal is going to sound good with EVERY setup. This is why we offer a 7 day money back guarantee...If the pedal works well with your setup, keep it. If not (and it is still in new condition) simply return it within 7 days of receiving it.

Review from Harmony Central:

Price Paid: N/A

Ease of Use: 10
Three knobs, two toggles, one for mid-boost and one for bass-boost. Very easy to use.

Sound Quality: 10
Absolutely the very finest overdrive pedal I've ever heard, and I've tried more than I care to think about. The Gain knob on this sweeps between an overdrive sound all the way to a ballsy distortion, actually. So, for this particular pedal, 'overdrive' is a little bit of a misnomer. One gets much, much more than just overdrive.
Yes, there is also excellent note clarity and definition and no, it won't color your sound such that you won't remember what kind of guitar or amp you're playing.

Reliability: 10
So far, so good. Built very ruggedly. Short of an internal component randomly going on the fritz, I can't really see how it will prove to be any trouble at all.

Customer Support: 10
Brian is as approachable a builder as you're likely to find anywhere. Rather humble, too. Absolutely no hype.

Overall Rating: 10
Again, is an entirely great pedal and outright obliterates the competition amongst the high-end builders, for this kind of pedal. I can compare it to several other high-end pedal builders but I don't want to slag anyone in print so, for those interested in such, contact me. In the meantime, if you don't find the sound out of this pedal superb, it's probably time to take up another hobby.
